ESLCOCourse introduction: ESL (English As Secondary Language) advanced English course is a compulsory credit for all English non-native language students in the Ontario secondary school education syllabus. It is divided into 5 levels from A to E. ESL grading is based on a student's level of English proficiency, regardless of grade level. Only students with English proficiency at the highest level, E, can take the College Preparatory English program to obtain an Ontario high school qualification. Start time: full-time and part-time Full-time: 2 quarters a year, divided into fall admission (September) and spring admission (March) Part-time system: Enroll students throughout the year, and register for student status at any time.
